Police bar Mancha faction’s programme

Police barred Kamal Pasha led faction of Ganajagaran Mancha to observe their pre-scheduled programme marking the “Mujibnagar Dibosh” at Shahabag Projonmo Chattar on Thursday.

Sub-Inspector Kazi Shariful Islam of Shahabag Police station said: “Mmancha activists were not allowed to hold the programme with a view to avoid crowd, traffic jam and any untoward situation in the area.”

Following the obstruction, the activists of Kamal Pasha faction became agitated and expressed dissatisfaction to the law enforcers. 

Later, Kamal Pasha Chowdhury along with other activists held a press conference and demanded explanation from the government why they were not allowed to hold the program. 

Kamal pasha however warned of tougher programme if the government does not explain the reason of barring them holding the programme.

“If the law enforcers do not give us any specific and clear reason, we will observe tougher program in future,” Pasha said while addressing the press conference.

He also called a demonstration programme at Shahbagh at 3pm on Friday protesting the  law enforcers’ inaction to the attackers on Shihir, who was stabbed on Tuesday at Banglamotor area.

Among others, F M Shahin, Moklasur Rahman, Habibullaha Mesbha, Nipu were present in the briefing.
