Krishak League president of Itna upazila of Kishoreganj has been killed in lightning on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Matiur Rahman, 55, of Itna sadar area and the president of Itna upazila Krishak League.
Police and locals said a thunderbolt struck him while he went to nearby paddy field at a Dakkiner haor area to look after workers who were harvesting paddy in Dakkiner haor area around 8am, leaving Matiur Rahman dead on the spot.
Itna police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Hashem confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
