The Daruchini Dwip girl and Lux Channel i Superstar winner of 2006, Zakia Bari Momo is now busy shooting for silver screens only. Although the National Award winner has acted in many dramas, at present, she is only focusing on films. Currently she is shooting for the film Prem Korbo Tomar Sathe, directed by Rakibul Alam. The movie falls under the mixed genre of romance and action, featuring Anisur Rahman Milon as Momo’s counterpart.
The talented actor is also working in Shihab Shaheen’s Chuye Dilo Mon, with Arifin Shuvoo as her co-star. The movie is set apart from the usual romantic stories because it is set in the backdrop of an imaginary city called “Hridoypur,” which is thought up by the producer. The plot revolves around a couple who broke up a long time ago, the breakup being initiated by the woman. The story moves forward when the male protagonist finds the woman of his desire after a long time.
It has been reported that Momo is also working in two more movies. About her work, Momo said: “As I have mentioned before, I just want to focus in films only. I am choosing the films based on the script and my character. At this moment, I want to create a lasting impression in Dhallywood.”
While asked about her preference between art and commercial films, Momo replied: “I just look for a good script to work on. In these days, the line between the two genre has become really thin. Good films can be both commercial and slightly off-beat art films.”
According to Momo, the director and the character are the two prime aspects factors while she considers a work. “I try to experiment with new characters. Even if the character is close to some roles I have already portrayed, I attempt to add some diverse dimensions to it so that the audience is clearly able to differentiate between them.”
