Two people were killed and 25 others injured in a road accident on Kishoreganj- Dhaka Highway at Katar bazaar area in Pakundia upazila early in the morning on Monday.
The deceased could not be identified immediately but they were passengers of the bus, police said.
Office-in-charge of Pakundia Police Station Zakir Hossain said the accident took place on the highway at Chaliagope village near Katar bazaar in Pakundia at about 6:30am when a passenger bound bus and a wood laden tractor collided head-on, leaving one passenger of the bus dead on the spot and another succumbed in the hospital. 25 people were injured including the tractor driver. The injured were rushed to Kishoreganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital in critical condition. 10 of them are in critical condition till filling up the report.
However, the bus driver and his helper fled away after the accident, but police seized the bus and the tractor.
