Four railway officials have been temporarily suspended right after the Sirajganj rail crash for neglecting their duties on Sunday.
The officials are Station Master Nur Kutub, Locomotive Master of Ekota Express Bankim Chandra Roy, Assistant Locomotive Master Abdus Shafi and train guard Azizur Rahman.
Meanwhile, five probe committees have been formed in order to investigate the accident.
Of the five, Railway Ministry formed two committees-- one is led by West zone Chief Traffic and Operation Superintendent Miah Jahan, while the other committee has made in the divisional level.
The Railway Ministry has issued a press release in this regard on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Rail Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said: “A four-member probe committee, including three additional directors and general manager of West zone, has been formed to investigate into the accident.”
The members are ADG (infustructure) Amzad Hossain, ADG (operation) Zahirul Islam and ADG (railway station) Khalilur Rahman and GM of West zone railway Abdul Awal Bhuiyan.
Pakshi railway has also formed a five member body led by divisional traffic authority Shafiqur Rahman.
The body was asked to submit the report within 24 hours, said Abdul Awal Bhuiyan, GM of West zone railway.
Besides, the district administration has from another probe body.
Deputy Commissioner Billal Hossain said: "District administration has formed a probe committee led by Additional District Magistrate Md Shafikul Islam. The body is asked to submit the report within three days."
Railway Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad and its Director General Tofazzal Hossain visited the spot at 10:15am.
Train service of northern districts with Dhaka, which remained suspended following the train collision in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj, resumed after about nine hours on Sunday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner Md Billal Hossain confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
Two people have been killed and at least 30 passengers injured as an intercity train crashed into another in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj early Sunday.
