Quader: 4,000 km ring-road in border areas

About four thousand kilometer long ring-road will be built in the border areas with the neighboring countries like India and Myanmar alongside the tourism-based special economic zone.

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader made the disclosure while inaugurating a project to build four roads and bridges in Sajek valley of Khagrachari, reported BSS.

With a view to increasing connectivity with the neighboring countries, revolutionary changes will be made in the development of communication infrastructure of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) area in the next two years, the minister said.

Quader in his speech added that the present government would conclude implementing at least ninety percent of the CHT peace accord in its present tenure to reflect the earnest expectations of the people of CHT.

He emphasized on continual peace and co-existence of all the people alongside their support.

Kujendra Lal Tripura, MP, Major General Md Abdul Kadir, Major General Sabbir Ahmed, Brigadier General Quazi Samsul Islam were present on the occasion, among others.
