District Road Transport Owners’ Association has called an indefinite bus strike on Kishoreganj-Dhaka route from Saturday morning, protesting the sudden halt of buses from the Dhaka route.
Kishoreganj District Road Transport Owners’ Association President Helal Uddin Manik said: “Two buses go to Dhaka’s Mirpur from Kishoreganj, one of which was seized by Owners’ Association from Dhaka a month ago.”
“They even beat up the workers and snatched away their money. Over the feud, workers in Kishoreganj seized a bus from Dhaka which was later released by the Owners’ Association,” he said.
“However, today morning [Saturday] Owners’ Association from Dhaka suddenly stopped buses from all the routes of capital that connect to Kishoreganj, so we were forced to stop the buses from this end,” Helal added.
