Another victim in the fire at a warehouse of a perfume factory in capital’s Chawkbazar , has lost his battle against death on Friday evening.
With the death Mafizur Rahaman, 40, all the three victims died while they had been undergoing treatment at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Mafizur succumbed to his wounds at around 6pm at the Intensive Care Unit of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at DMCH.
Dr Afzal Hossain of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit said Mafizur had sustained 40% burns of his body.
Hailed from Matlab Upazila in Chandpur district, Mafizur was an employee of the warehouse of the perfume factory located on Hekim Habibur Rahman Road at Mughaltuli in Chawkbazar near the Chhotokatara.
The warehouse located on the 4th floor of a six-storey building was caught by a fire at night on April 2 leaving three of its employees burnt severely.
Earlier on April 7, another victim Azizur Rahman, 36, Matlab upazila in Chandpur district, died at around 6:30am with burnt at around 40% of his body while Kabir Hossain, another victim, also succumbed to his injuries day after the fire incident with 90% burns.
