Crude bombs seized from DU hall

Police have recovered crude bombs and sharp weapons from Surja Sen Hall in Dhaka University during a raid following a Chhatra League factional clash.

Shibly Noman, assistant commissioner of Ramna Zone of police, said at least 20 crude bombs, eight knives and machetes, and about 100 rods were recovered from a room of the hall.

He said suggested by the university authorities, police operated the raid around 5pm.

However, none was arrested in the raid.

Earlier in the afternoon, five persons were injured in a clash between two groups of Chhatra League activists in Surja Sen Hall of Dhaka University.

The clash erupted following an altercation between two first-year students of the hall who belong to two factions of the ruling party student affiliate while they were having lunch in the Jashim Uddin Hall cafeteria.
