Eight Thai nationals were arrested for illegally encroaching onto Bangladesh territory.
While on the Karnaphuli River with their boat, the SVG Nam Naowi, they were detained by the coast guard in Chittagong around 7:45pm on Thursday.
The coast guard arrested them from S Alam Jetty near the Shah Amanat bridge, Captain Shahidul Islam, zonal commander of Bangladesh Coast Guard (East Zone) said.
