The madrasa student who was chopped has succumbed undergoing treatments at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after 16 days.
The deceased was Jihad Hossain, 16, son of Abdur Rashid Mia from Sailkupa upazila, Jhenaidah, and a student of Aminia Alim Madrassa in Jessore.
Father Abdur Mia said his son died at DMCH on Wednesday night.
Jhenaidah police Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury could not tell about the matter. “No case have been filed over this incident.”
Jihad was abducted and hacked indiscriminately in Jhenaidah town on March 25. Locals rescued him and rushed to Jhenaidah General Hospital.
However, he was taken to several hospitals upon referrals and ended up dying in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
