Sonali Bank has filed a fresh case against Hall-Mark Chairman Jasmin and Managing Director Tanvir Mahmud for loan defaulting.
Executive Officer Md Abdus Salam filed the case with Dhaka’s first money-loan court on behalf of Sonali Bank on Tuesday afternoon.
In the case, Hall-Mark Chairman Jasmin and Managing Director Tanvir Mahmud, Design Wear Limited and High Need Design Limited have been made defendants for defaulting Tk60.44 crore.
Abdus Salam said: “Sonali Bank will file a total of 21 cases against the MD and Chairman of Hall-Mark as they had defaulted approximately Tk62 crore loans.”
The Hallmark Group and five other companies are accused of using forged documents to apply for loans worth Tk35.47bn from Sonali Bank’s Sheraton hotel branch (now Ruposhi Bangla), between January 2010 and May 2012.
