The 48th Convocation of Dhaka University will be held on Monday.
President and Chancellor of the university M Abdul Hamid is expected to preside over the function while European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) Director General Professor Rolf Heuer will attend as the convocation speaker.
He will be honoured with a “Doctor of Science” degree during the programme.
Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique said all preparations for the convocation have already been completed.
The VC said this in a press conference at Old Senate Bhaban at the Dhaka University campus on Saturday morning, reports BSS.
"The participation of women is increasing in all spheres of the society. This trend is also reflecting in the convocation where the number of female gradates is more than that of their male counterpart," Professor Arefin said.
A total of 8,312 graduates, postgraduates and scholars will receive certificates through the convocation. Of them, 4,297 are female and 4,015 male.
