Schoolboy killed in Mymensingh road crash

A schoolboy has been killed and his classmate injured as a truck hit their motorcycle at Birguchina area on Mymensingh-Haluaghat road in Mymensingh on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Hannan, 17, son of Abul Mansur, of Balsha village in Haluaghat upazila.

He was a class ten student of Dhara High School.

Haluaghat police station Officer-in-Charge Jakiur Rahman said: “A Jakiur Rahman Haluaghat bound truck hit their motorcycle around 9am, killing Hannan on the spot.”

Injured Sarwar was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).

Following the incident, fellow students put a barricade on the road for an hour.

He said police seized the truck. However, its driver managed to flee the scene.

A case was lodged with the police station in connection with the incident.
