A patient is said to have died because of wrong treatment by a doctor in Tongi, Gazipur.
Following the death, angry relatives and locals have vandalised the medical centre.
Selina Akhter, 35, wife of Kabir Hossain, visited Seba Susrusha Hospital Private Limited for consultation regarding shoulder pain on Tuesday night.
Hospital and local sources said Selina fell ill after Dr Ekramul Haque administered an injection.
Later, she was rushed to Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared her dead.
Angered locals and family vandalised the clinic around 8pm on Tuesday night.
Police were compelled to charge batons to bring the situation under control.
Tongi police Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said relatives vandalised the clinic alleging death over wrong treatment. “Police used batons to tame the situation.”
No case was filed in this regard and no one arrested.
