Al least eight people have received bullet wounds when two groups of villagers locked into a clash with each other over establishing supremacy at Khaguria area under Satkania upazila in Chittagong on Tuesday afternoon.
Satkania upazila Officer-in-Charge Khaled Hossain said: “Khorshed and Jamal groups got into an altercation centring a religious programme at Khaguria area in the afternoon.”
“Following the altercation, they locked into a clash around 1am,” he said.
At a stage of the clash, the groups fired split bullets that left five people bullet wounded.
The OC said the injured were given treatment in local hospitals.
