A police has died in a cardiac arrest while discharging his election duty in Sirajganj on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Asaduzzaman, son of Abdur Rashid of Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Raiganj police station.
Shahjadpur police station Officer-in-Charge Hassan Shamim Iqbal said: “He was given upazila election duty at Gopinathpur Government Primary School polling centre in Thukni union for today [Monday].”
“He had a cardiac arrest when he appeared in the polling centre around 10pm on Sunday,” he said.
The OC said he died on his way to Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital.
