Website,factory inspection database unveiled

Update : 30 Mar 2014, 08:53 AM

The website and factory inspection database of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments have been unveiled publicly according to the requirements of the foreign garments buyers.

The process of appointing 67 non-cadre class-I officers is in the finishing ends. It would be finished appointing those officers within a week as President Abdul Hamid has already approved the recruitment rules of the department.

It will be sent to the public service commission to complete the recruitment of non-cadre class-I officers from their BCS cadre officers recruiting waiting lists. They will complete the recruitment within a week, State Minister for Labour and Employment Mojibul Haque Chunnu told on Sunday.

The state minister disclosed the information while opening the website and factory inspection database of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments in his ministry conference room.

The minister said two conditions out of total 16 given by the foreign buyers are related with his ministry. Those are ‘opening website and factory inspection database of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments’ and recruiting of 289 class-I and class-II officers for the department that are vacant now.

We have already completed the recruitment process of the class-I non-cadre officers. To finish the recruitment of class-II non-cadre officers, we have to change the existing class-II officers recruitment rules, he added.

According to the existing rules, though the PSC has around 7,000 qualified candidates in their waiting list, we cannot recruit them into class-II posts as they were qualified for class-I posts. The government wants to recruit those candidates from the lists who are interested to be recruited in the class-II posts.

We have sent a proposal to the public administration ministry amending the existing rules. It would be approved soon. It will be sent to the president and prime minister’s office for their approval. We will start recruiting them immediate after they approve the rules, Chunnu added.
