Unidentified miscreants have vandalised some idols in a temple at Polondhi area under Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira early Saturday.
Shyamnagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sagir Mia has confirmed about the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
Nagbati General Bashonti Puja Temple President Bimol Krishno Mistri said: “Unidentified miscreants had entered the temple sometime at night and vandalised some of the idols,” he said.
Shyamnagar OC said: “Owners of a prawn farm, adjacent to the temple had a long term conflict regarding the land of the temple. We are estimating that the owners of the farm might have conducted the attack.”
“The matter is being looked upon with importance,” he added.
