Final report on Jamaat submitted

The investigation agency of the International Crimes has submitted the final report to prosecution about Jamaat on Thursday afternoon .

The prosecution office told the Dhaka Tribune that the report was submitted at 1pm.

On March 25, ICT prayed to ban Jamaat-e-Islami for its role during the 1971 Liberation War.

The probe body also brought charges against Jamaal-e-Islami's the then student wing Islami Chhatra Sangha, associate organisation Shanti Committee, Razakar, al-Badr and al-Shams for committing crimes during 1971 Liberation War.

The probe body has brought charges of seven kinds of crimes under section 3 (2) of International War Crimes Tribunal, 1973 against Jamaal-e-Islami.

The charges include crimes against humanity, genocide, war crime, any other crime under international law and attempt, abetment or conspiracy to commit any such crimes.

The report mentioned that all the policymakers, organisers, directors and leaders of all levels of them are responsible for the crimes against humanity.

The probe body also prayed for banning Jamaat's mouthpiece newspapers including Daily Sangram.

The report also urged the authority concerned to take action against the financial institutions if their link is found with the party.
