Police have recovered two bullet-hit bodies of local Awami League members at Bagh Binchupur area under Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Thana Awami League Joint Secretary Dulal khandoker, 48, son of Moksed Khondokar of Sameshpur village in Kushtia and Awami League supporter Firoz Biswas, 44, son of Pana Biswas of the same village.
Locals said unknown criminals on a microbus abducted them while they were just entering the house in Khoksha upazila of Kushtia district.
Hearing the sound of bullet shots, locals rushed to the spot and found the bodies.
On information, police recovered the bodies from a ditch at Machpara Bus stand area on Rajbari-Kushtia road around 8:30am and sent them to Rajbari Sadar Morgue for autopsy.
Family sources said they came under gun attack while they were returning home from the local market around 11:30pm on Sunday night.
Pangsha police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Basher Miah said the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
He said a case has been filed with Pangsha police station in connection to the matter.
