National Human Rights Commission Chairman Prof Mizanur Rahman has said he will continue his criticism for the sake of the fundamental rights of the people even if that went against the government or any minister.
He made the statement at a view exchange meeting on preparing recommendation for enacting law against discrimination at the Judicial Administration Training Institution in the capital on Saturday.
He further said he had no intention to do politics and no chance to contest in election.
“Though it was not possible to acknowledge LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Trans-sexual) in the anti-discrimination law in the present society, provision has to be incorporated in the law so that they are not to be discriminated,” said Mizanur.
The NHRC chief also pressed for not evicting the men of the sweeper colony beside Medford hospital unless an alternative dwelling place was ensured.
