A death sentenced prisoner has died at Dhaka Central Jail, Part 2 in Kashimpur, Gazipur, what is the second such death in seven days.
The inmate has been identified as Abdur Rahim Khan, 70, son of late Abdul Aziz from Kishoreganj and death sentenced convict of a murder case.
Kashimpur High Security Prison Jailor Jannatul Forhad said Rahim was rushed to Gazipur Sadar Hospital after chest pains around Thursday midnight.
On-duty doctors declared him dead after taken to the hospital, he added. The body has been handed over to his relatives on Saturday morning.
Earlier on March 17, a murder case convict Jamal Mridha died after being taken to Gazipur Sadar Hospital with complains of chest pains.
