BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain were sent to Kashimpur jail, Gazipur on Sunday.
Kashimpur Dhaka Central Jail 2 Super Jahangir said: “A police prison van carrying Fakhrul reached Kashempur jail from the Dhaka Central jail around 6:30pm on Monday.”
A source of Kashimpur Dhaka Central Jail 1 said Khandaker Mosharraf, who was arrested in a money laundering case, reached the jail around 9pm.
On Sunday, a Dhaka court sent BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Abdus Salam to jail, rejecting their bail petitions in connection with three separate cases filed with Ramna and Shahbagh police stations.
The three leaders surrendered before the trial court complying with a Supreme Court directive.
On March 9, a five-member bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Muzammel Hossain scrapped the HC order that granted eight weeks bail order for five top BNP leaders.
The three cases were filed in connection with the killings of a policeman and three others during December-January anti-government protest.
