A number of shanties were gutted in a fire at a slum in Halishahar block – I of Chittagong on Sunday afternoon.
Four fire fighting units doused the blaze after frantic efforts.
Md Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSDC) in Chittagong Headquarters told the Dhaka Tribune.
Casualty of the fire could not be known immediately, he said.
