At least three persons have been killed and 30 others injured as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Mirkandapara area of the district on Saturday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Hasmat Ali, 38, Sultan Miah, 30, and Abdur Rahim, 30, of Bararchar area of the district.
Of the injured, 13 people have been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
Shawkat Hossain, sub-inspector of Kotwali model police station said: “The passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over its steering while returning to Bararchar after visiting a shrine in Netrokona, leaving two dead on the spot.”
Another died after being taken to the hospital, he added.
Later, police, members of Fire Service and local people recovered the bus from the area.
