Four members of a family have been burned to death in a fire at Binodpur village under sadar upazila in Munshiganj early Saturday.
Of the deceased, three were identified as Firoza Begum, 25, wife of Afzal Hossain, their two children Mohammad Fahim, 2, and three-month-old boy Masum Billah. The name of Firoza’s mother, who was also killed in the incident, could not be known immediately.
Sadar police station Officer-in-charge Mohamamd Shahidul Islam said: “The fire originated from the kitchen and it soon engulfed the whole house around 12:45am, killing the four on the spot.
Afzal and Firoza worked for Bhangagora Rice Mill, near their thatched house.
Later, police recovered the bodies around 1:30am.
