At least six people were killed in separate road accidents in, Kishoreganj, Hobiganj, Natore and Jhenaidah yesterday.
Three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Kuliarchar and Hossainpur of Kishoreganj on Thursday.
An intercity train crushed a Nosimon [three wheeler] at Borkharchar rail crossing, leaving two dead and two injured.
The deceased were identified as Sonam Uddin, 60 and Murshid Mia, 23, of Mirerchar village in Bajitpur upazila.
Railway sources said the accident had taken place on the Kishoreganj-Dhaka railway around 4pm when Dhaka-bound Egarosindur Gudhuli Intercity Train crushed a bamboo-laden Nosimon.
The two injured were rushed to Bagalpur Jahurul Islam Medical Hospital in critical condition.
In another accident, Sultan Mia, 48, of Saheberchar village in Hossainpur upazila died on the spot around 8:30pm, when a speedy microbus ran over him while he was crossing the road in Dulihar area in the upazila.
Md Delwar Hossain Khan, officer-in-charge of Kuliarchar police station, said all the bodies were sent to Kishoreganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, a child was killed as a truck rammed him in Dorgah Gate area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Habiganj in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 8, son of Lemon Mia of Barushor village under Nasirnagar upazila in Brahmanbaria.
Local sources said a Sylhet-bound truck rammed Abdur while he ran to cross the road in Dorgah Gate area around 3:15am, killing him on the spot.
In Natore, a motorcyclist was killed at Banpara Bazar under Baraigram upazila as a speedy truck knocked down him. The deceased is Alpu, a resident of Pathanpara under the upazila.
Our Jhenaidah correspondent adds: A shallow engine-run vehicle locally known as Nosimon crushed a middle aged woman under its wheels in Kaliganj.
The deceased was identified as Sahera Begum, a resident of Faraspur village in of the upazila.
