A death row convict in the US state of Louisiana has walked out from prison after 25 years of his conviction. Glenn Ford, 64, had been on death row since August 1988 for killing a jeweler, reports BBC Online.
He had been found guilty of killing 56-year-old Isadore Rozeman, a jeweller for whom Mr Ford occasionally worked.
State District Judge Ramona Emanuel on Monday overturned Ford's conviction and sentence following new information that supported his claim that he was not present or involved in Rozeman's death, Ford's lawyers said.
Ford had always denied killing Rozeman.
He is one of the longest-serving death row inmates in modern US history to be acquitted, according to US media.
“My mind is going in all kinds of directions but it feels good,” Ford said while expressing his feeling to reporter.
