A day-long Women Entrepreneurs’ Conference and Product Display-2014 will be held on Thursday to encourage the women entrepreneurs across the country.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman will formally inaugurate the day-long conference, said the officials of the central bank while addressing a press conference held yesterday at its headquarters in the city.
Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Special Programmes Department of BB will jointly organise the programme at a city hotel in association with banks and non-bank financial institutions, JICA and CARE, Bangladesh.
The press conference was attended, among others, by Executive Director of BB Nirmal Chandra Bhakta, President of Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB) Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director of Pubali Bank Helal Ahmed Chowdhury and Managing Director of Islami Bank Mohammad Abdul Mannan.
“Around 1,000 women entrepreneurs across the country, financed by banks and non-bank financial institutions, will take part at the conference,” said BB director Nirmal Chandra Bhakta while addressing the press conference.
