A Bogra court has granted five-day remand to eight suspects in Sonali Bank burglary case.
A Judicial Magistrate Court granted the remand when the Investigation Officer of the case Zohirul Hoque produced them before the court with a 10-day remand plea on Monday afternoon.
Of the accused, four are members of Ansar and another is Ashraful Islam, the owner of a furniture shop adjacent to the bank.
IO Zohirul confirmed about the remand to the Dhaka Tribune.
About Tk32.5 lakh was stolen from Sonali Bank’s Adamdighi branch in Bogra on Saturday.
Burglars dug a tunnel from a nearby furniture shop to reach the vault of the bank.
In similar fashion robbers took away Tk16.4 crore from the Sonali Bank main branch of Kishoreganj on January 24 by digging a tunnel from an adjacent house.
