Police have obtained information from the detainees regarding the break-in at a Sonali Bank branch in Bogra and loot of over Tk30 lakh from its vault.
Ansar members Purnadeb and Milon Hossain have revealed some information, investigation officer of the case over this matter, Inspector Md Zahurul Haque, said.
The two along with some other detainees will be produced at court, the official said on Monday. Police will seek them for questioning in custody.
“Those two Ansar members heard noises from inside the bank late on Thursday night,” he said. “They heard the noises for six hours, 9pm to 3am.”
The police official did not reveal any further but said he was progressing on the basis of answers obtained as to why the two did not inform anyone about the matter.
The investigation officer said a gang of at least eight people were working as a team during the break-in. “The man who got inside the vault is about 18 years old.”
On Saturday, officials said of the Adamdighi branch, Bogra Sonali Bank spotted a passageway into its vault and found over Tk30 lakh missing.
This was the second time a branch of Sonali Bank has been broken into in similar fashion.
