A mentally challenged patient was supposedly killed by another patient in Pabna mental hospital on Saturday morning.
Police recovered the body from hospital and also arrested the person who is accused for the killing, Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar police station Kazi Haniful Islam said.
The victim Md Joynal Abedin, 45, son of Loghu Pramanik, hail from Nangtadah village of Boraigram upazila in Natore district, was admitted in Pabna mental hospital on January 12.
Police and mental hospital sources said the victim was undergoing treatment in ward no 9 of the hospital. They suspect that another patient Md Ashraful Islam of the same ward killed him hitting heavy metal in the toilet of the ward at about 9am.
A case was filed with Pabna police station, OC Kazi Haniful said.
