Five people, including a child have been killed as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a jeep at Bariura in Sarail upazila on Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Thursday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Sarail police station Officer-in-Charge Md Ali Ashraf said a Dhaka-bound Pajero jeep ram an auto-rickshaw down, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured — a minor boy and a woman — succumbed to their injuries after they were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
The OC said it was being estimating that the victims were the residents of the same upazila
