Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned of taking tough action if any kind of link with militancy and terrorism is found.
She uttered the warning while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Police Week-2014 at the Rajarbagh Police Line in the capital on Thursday morning.
Hasina said the present government has a set of goals to achieve, which can’t be possible without betterment of police as maintaining peace would be vital for this.
The prime minister called upon members of the police force to comply with the government’s efforts to achieve its goals.
The government has taken initiative to make police for more people-oriented, she said.
So, the government has given emphasis on the training of police; increasing their status and benefits, she also said.
The prime minister said many don’t want the development of the country what the government is doing.
A section of vested quarter wanted to destabilise the situation with conspiracy and subversion like in the past.
They could not stop the idealism of our country's Liberation War, she added.
