2,500 telephone lines disconnected

Nearly 2,500 telephone lines of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) under Sher-e-Banglanagar exchange is disconnected due to snatching of its underground cable in city's Asadgate, reports BSS.

BTCL clients of Lalmatia, Asad Avenue, Iqbal Road, Sir Syed Road, Tajmahal Road, Salimullah Road and adjoining areas have been out of connection, as the underground cable was snatched during the development work of Dhaka WASA, said a BTCL press release on Wednesday.

BTCL is working for the reinstatement of the disconnected telephone lines and expecting to make those active soon.

BTCL authority regretted to its valued customers for the unexpected inconvenience, the release added.
