Tobuo Bhalobasha addresses climate change threat

Update : 04 Mar 2014, 06:22 PM

Impress Telefilm Limited organised a muharat for their new film Tobuo Bhalobasha. The film is jointly produced by Impress Telefilm Limited and Reggae Entertainment and Tourism. The event was held onboard of MV Flamingo, a luxurious ship docked at the Buriganga river. The reason for holding the muharat on a ship is that it is related to the subject of the film as it addresses the drastic climate change issues. The plot includes climate refugees and the assumption that 50% of Bangladesh will be under water in 2050. Through this film, Swapan Ahmed wants to create more awareness about global warming and the effects of climate change. However, aside from the serious aspects, the film also has the elements of a love story.

Scripted and written by Anisul Haque and directed by Swapan Ahmed, the film will introduce a new silver screen duo Anisur Rahman Milon and debutant Ritu Islam in lead roles. Other members of the cast includes Hena, Pronob Sarker Opu, Lutfur Rahman Jorje, Chashi and more.

Actors of the film joined the muharat a bit later as they were attending a campaign to save the river by holding placards with the message “Love for river, love for country.”

Shooting of the film will start from March 6 in Kurigram, different islands on Megna and other locations of Dhaka. About the film, Swapan Ahmed said: “The storytelling of the film will be different, it will be done in such a manner that the international audience will also be able to connect with the story.”
