Two get death penalty in Pavel murder

A district court has awarded death penalty to two accused in the Syed Pavel murder case.

The convicts are Pavel Ahmed and Abdur Rauf Molla.

The Sylhet Speedy Trial Tribunal's judge Dilip Kumar Debnath gave the verdict on Thursday.

Two other accused in the case are also sentenced to life-term imprisonment.

The tribunal also acquitted three other accused in the case.

Syed Pavel went missing after his friends including the prime accused of the caser Pavel Ahmed had taken him to a shop named Raj Fashion on November 23, 2010.

On November 25, 2010, police recovered the body of Pavel near Raj Fashion. Later, Pavel’s wife Nazratun Nayeem Moushumi filed a case with Habiganj Sadar police station.
