Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday urged the members of (BAS) to play more effective role to help implement the existing time-befitting laws so that people can be benefited through legal coverage.
“Country’s development will be expedited if the rule of law is established,” she said while addressing as the chief guest the 28th annual conference of the Bangladesh Ain Samity.
The conference was held at the Dhaka University with its President AKM Afzalul Munir in the chair.
Shirin called upon the Bangladesh Ain Samity members to work from their respective positions to strengthen democracy further through building a non-communal country.
“I hope the Ain Samity will play an active role in ensuring the rule of law and justice for all.”
Underscoring the need for the development of women, she said the socioeconomic development of the country will not be possible without proper empowerment of women as half of the country’s population is women.
“Keep it in mind that women aren’t left from the development trend.”
