At least five people have been injured after two groups of transport workers locked into sporadic clashes at Habiganj Sadar bus stand on Thursday night.
Locals said the clashes occurred between the workers of local bus and human hauler (locally maxi) operators around 8pm. The clash, allegedly regarding passenger distribution, halted vehicular movement in the district. The injured workers have been admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
Shafiqur Rahman, general secretary of Motor Owners’ Group, said transportation services in the area were halted for security reasons.
