Public prosecutor of the murder case of Major General Manzoor has appealed for further investigation in the argument session on Thursday afternoon.
“By researching the charge sheet and other documents, it is found that the investigation officer of the murder case has made some faults and imperfection while investigation,” PP Asaduzzaman Rosi said in the argument session.
The hearing of the further arguments on the Manzoor murder case has ended in the court of Dhaka, First Additional District and Sessions Judge Khandakar Hassan, on Thursday.
However, the court did not give order in this regard.
Jatiya Party chairman and two others accused have appeared before the court.
Earlier, the bench of Dhaka First Additional District and Sessions Judge Hosne Ara Akhtar scheduled February 10 for delivering the verdict in this case.
However, a new judge was later appointed to this case which primarily accuses prime minister's special envoy and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad.
Afterwards, speculations circulated around the date of the verdict as to whether it will be delivered on the due date.
On February 10, Dhaka First Additional District and Sessions Judge Khandakar Hassan, the new judge of the case, called for further arguments on Thursday.
Maj Gen Monzoor was killed during a transfer from police custody to Chittagong Cantonment on June 1, 1981 after the killing of former president Ziaur Rahman, the case statement says.
The victim’s sibling Abul Mansur Ahmed filed a case in connection with the murder with Panchlaish police station in Chittagong on February 28, 1995 – after 14 years of the incident.
