Two cases have been filed against the two persons detained in connection with the daring hijacking where a policeman was killed and three condemned militants escaped.
Zakaria, who police identified as one of the snatcher, and one Rasel were sued in two cases of arms and explosives with Sakhipur police station on Monday afternoon, Dhaka range police Additional Deputy Inspector General Khandakar Golam Faruk said.
They will be produced at court and sought for five-day remand in custody, he said, adding: "Police have indentified the main planner of the attack on police prison van for snatching 3 JMB convicts in Trishal, Mymensingh."
On Sunday, miscreants attacked a prison van and snatched away the three militants of the banned Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). A policeman was killed during the incident.
Three people, including one of the fugitive militants, were recaptured hours after the incident. Recaptured Rakib Hasan died in a “gunfight” early on Monday.
