Celebrated recitation artiste Hassan Arif will perform in a solo show this evening at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in Dhanmondi.
Bengal Foundation has organised the show marking the International Mother language Day.
The programme features poems of famed poets Nirmalendu Goon, Sohel Anwar, Aminur Rahman, Ramchandra Paul and Shubho Dasgupta. Poems on love – love for the creator, love for the country and love between male and female – all these aspects will be common in the selected poems of today’s event.
Born and bred in a culturally-oriented family, Hassan Arif’s introduction to poetry and music happened at an early age. However, Arif felt a special attraction for poetry. Since the 1980s, he has been active in the cultural scene of the country. Hasan Arif is currently serving as the general secretary of Shammilito Shangskritik Jote, the largest cultural organisation of the country.
