The wounded tigress which was rescued from a village adjacent to the Sundarbans died on Wednesday.
It died around 9:30am at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur, the park’s Range Officer Shiv Prashad confirmed the Dhaka Tribune on Friday.
He said, “The tigress was brought to the Safari park from the Sundarbans on the first week of February with injuries in its right leg.
A surgery was conducted by a team led by Professor Mizanur Rahman at Mymensingh Agricultural University on February as the injuries were critical.”
The body of the tigress was buried on the park premises after autopsy.
