Kabir Hossainer Pandulipi
Kabir Hossainer Pandulipi airs on ATN Bangla at 10:55pm. Written by Shourjyodipto Shurjo and directed by Hasan Shikder, the telefilm features Raisul Islam Asad, Rawnak hasan, Bhabna and others. Film Bangla is adapted from Ahmed Sofa’s literary works Omkar and directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon. Marking International Mother Language Day, the film will be aired on ATN Bangla today at 3.10pm. The cast of the film includes popular actor Shabnur, Mahfuz, Humayun Faridi and many others. The story is about a beautiful young woman with a stormy personality. Her depth of character perhaps comes from the fact that she is mute but can hear everything. When Mahfuz comes across her, he is instantly attracted to the mesmeric characteristics of the volatile personality and decides that he wants to marry her. Facing opposition from his family, Mahfuz moves to the city with his mute wife who realises the struggle her husband is going through, to maintain their relationship. When the Language Movement starts, she tries to speak and after several failed attempts, she utters one word, “Bangla.”
Ochin Pakhi
Special drama Ochin Pakhi will air on NTV at 2:30pm. Written by Hasan Azizul Haque, scripted by Shibu Kumar Shill and directed by Parvez Amin, the drama features popular soap actors Rokeya Prachi, Ashish Khondoker, Hrid and many others. The drama is about a boy named Hrid, who goes missing during the Language Movement. Hrid asks for a pet bird from his father. Giving into his son’s demand, his father buys him a bird. His pet’s staple food was paddy and Hrid decides to fetch the paddy from a nearby field by himself and never returns.
Bangla Apa
Banglavision’s own production Bangla Apa will be aired at 9:05pm today. The drama features Sumaiya Shimu, Dipto, Rahmat Ali, Khan Alam and many others. Technology has made it possible for people to be high achievers and Manabi is an example of the kind. She gains a scholarship via internet and goes abroad to teach Bangla. There, she makes her country proud through her unyielding performance and becomes known as “Bangla Apa.” When she returns to the country, a journalist comes to interview her.
