The state-run Sonali bank has auctioned the land that the much-talked Hallmark group kept with the bank as guarantee.
According to Section 12(C) of Money Loan Court Act 2013, the auction announcement was published in various daily newspapers on Thursday.
With the auction, the bank aimed to realize its assets worth Tk 710 crore that it loaned to the six organisations of the Hall-mark group.
During investigation, the bank found that the non-funded liabilities of the group can be made funded liabilities by selling the assets that the group kept with the bank as guarantee.
Earlier at the meeting of the Board of Directors of Sonali Bank, it was decided that the bank will file case in the current month to realize the lent money.
