The fifth phase of upazila election would be held on March 31, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad declared on Thursday afternoon.
A total of 74 upazilas will enter for upazila poll in the fifth phase, the CEC said.
The last date of filing nomination papers is March 2. The papers will be verified by March 5 and the last date for nomination withdrawal is March 12.
The first phase of upazila polls were held on Wednesday in 97 upazilas. CEC Rakibuddin Ahmad said the turnout in the poll was around 65%.
The second phase of election in 117 upazilas will be held on February 27. In the third phase, 83 upazilas will enter election on March 15.
The fourth phase of upazila election will be held across 92 upazilas on March 23.
