Tosir Ahammad, director general of the Department of Mass communication, has been appointed as the principal information officer of the Press Information Department (PID).
The Information Ministry issued an order in this regard on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the order, Tosir Ahammad will join his office as the new principal information officer from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, outgoing Principal Information Officer Aminul Islam will enter into retirement today.
The department also appointed Kamrun Nahar, director general of Bangladesh Film Achieve, to the post of director general of the Department of Mass Communication.
