The rail communications on Jhenaidah-Khulna route has been halted since hours as a boggy of a fertilizer-laden train derailed near Mobarkganj railway station under Kaliganj upazila on Monday evening.
Mobarkganj Railway Station Master Fazlul Haque said: “A boggy of the Iswardi-bound goods-laden train from Khulna derailed around 6pm when it arrived at Mobarkganj railway station.”
The rescue operation started immediately after the incident, added the station master.
The communications on the route will be restored by Tuesday morning, the station master further said.
