Aloha Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Festival on Friday

The 7th National Aloha Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Festival will be held at the city’s Shaheed Sarwardi Indoor stadium, Mirpur, on Friday.

The Aloha Bangladesh is organising the competition where children will show their mathematical skills by calculating 70 sums within 5 minutes, says a press release.

Abdullah Abu Sayeed, national professor and also chairman of Bishwa Shahitta Kendra will attend the competition as chief guest.

Rubaba Dowla, chief service officer, Airtel Bangladesh, and Loh Mun Sung, founder of Aloha International, Malaysia, are expected to attend the event as special guest.

Over 1,000 students from 300 different schools from Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Comilla and Rangpur will participate in the five-minute competition and it will be followed by an award-giving ceremony.  

Aloha Mental Arithmetic is an internationally recognised programme operating in 27 different countries, including the USA, Australia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan and Philippines and more than 50 lakh students got benefits out of it since its inception. 

A research conducted of late by Japanese Medical Research team revealed that ABACUS education immensely helps children develop brain and enhance performance in every subject of school. 

The Aloha Bangladesh is the first company to bring internationally recognised and accepted Aloha Mental Arithmetic programme from Malaysia to Bangladesh for the total brain development for children aged between 4 and 14.
